Yep, i too was shocked to hear of his untimely death this morning. Some may say that it was a strange quirk of fate considering what he normally gets up to but it wouldn"t surprise me if got too close and frightened the stingray that killed him by spearing him through the chest and heart with its barb.
Sadly missed and no pun intended but; G"DAY MATE AND REST IN PEACE!.... _________________ BTP 24/7 on 0800 405040

I am very sad to hear this news. He was such an interesting and knowledgable guy, who was so fascinating to watch. I will never forget him, and his encounters with those crocodiles. _________________ LIVE WELL, DIE WELL |

My son nearly burst into tears this morning when I told him.
Not so keen on the fact that he used to have his daughter 3 feet from a 15ft killer croc though. (Michael Jackson incident comes to mind).

Loved watching him, I think it's brilliant that there are people brave/mad enough to do what he did, but I'm not totally surprised... _________________ Does dim rhaid i chi ddweud dim byd. Don't get me wrong Falkor and others, I loved the guy too and I bet his daughter will follow suite. I just know what my bosses would say if I took my 10 year old son out on patrol with me. _________________ I am the one. |

Yes, I think we must remember, the guy was not just an incredible entertainer, in a unique way, but like H. so rightly states, he did an incredible amount, for conservation. _________________ LIVE WELL, DIE WELL |

He wil be sadly missed.... and it was the media and other numpties that compared the two completely unrelated incidents.
He knew exactly what he was doing and the child was in no way any danger....none at all. not like half of the single mothers i see pottering around nottingham testing if the road is safe and getting cars to stop by pushing the pram into the middle of a busy road...
he was a talented and enthusiastic individual .... a sad loss for all .. especially the wildlife he protected. |
